USDT ERC20 Deposit Safety Checklist
How to check a USDT ERC20 deposit address, Ethereum network fees, confirmations, and exchange crediting status safely.
ERC20 Means Ethereum Network
USDT can exist on multiple networks. ERC20 usually means the Ethereum network. Before sending, confirm that the receiving platform selected ERC20/Ethereum and that the address shown is intended for that network.
Before Sending
- Check the asset is USDT
- Check the network is ERC20/Ethereum
- Check the minimum deposit amount
- Check the deposit address carefully
- Send a small test transaction if the amount is large
- Keep the public transaction hash
After Sending
Use an Ethereum block explorer to confirm whether the transaction exists and how many confirmations it has. A confirmed transaction can still take time to appear in an exchange account if the platform requires additional confirmations or has indexing delays.
What Not To Do
Do not send the same funds again because a deposit page is slow to update. Do not share private wallet keys or exchange login details. Do not trust direct messages that claim they can speed up the deposit.
